I drove past a station today; 218.9 NZ cents per litre (US$6.15 per gallon). I remember when it was 90.9...

I believe both the current versions of Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro can edit 3D.

    Lethal

Ohh, Good call about Adobe Premiere Pro. It certainly can and seems the most price friendly option.

The current FCS can edit 3D with the Dashwood stereo 3d toolkit plugin!

    Sweet mother, $1,500 plugin!

What are people's thoughts on Sony Vegas Pro? I could run either parallels or bootcamp and my iMac more then fits the bill for these programs (27" iMac 2.93 i7, 12GB of Ram, 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5750)

Seems like a much cheaper avenue? Though I can probably find a good deal on Adobe Premiere Pro

For both the pro's and consumers who are thinking about 3D, here is a great video from Adobe:

My first week of owning my MBA 13, I was going to move my Superdrive while still plugged in. The extremely short cord got me and it fell on my palmrest area leaving a ugly scratch. I had some Novus #2 fine scratch remover for glass and plastic. I used it and it did a good job. It was very obvious before and after 5 minutes of buffing, I really have to search for the spot.

Did they give you the full HE discount though - Leopard for 58.75? Or did they charge 75?

I payed 76.50 which is what they call the Individual Educator discount. I wasn't aware that there are different education discounts.

ya, with a pricetag like that I wouldn't accept any flaws in the monitor at all. definitely take it back.

Taking it back right now, tomorrow is the last day to return it so better today then tomorrow!

how do they release the preview to developers and not let loose the super secret features? are all the super secret features all applications which don't need testing?

or will there be another round of betas?

My bet is that the GUI will be tested in the labs, there will be a few more apps put to the Dev's but not for a while yet. Apple want them to get board of spaces so they can put more atention on to the newer (SUPER SECRET) apps.

to be frank, the GUI will not be put out on any beta. this is the one thing apple dont want those pencil pushing theifs at redmond to see as it will no doubt work its way into there next relese (microsoft 2012?)

I have never heard of this guy. But having Geocities, Yahoo, and Microsoft on a resume doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence.

Or, drag to the Mail icon in your dock...

Another option: With the item selected, go to menu Finder > Services > New email with attachment.

IIRC, there is also a way to add contextual menu items through Automator. It's been a while since I've played with Automator, so I'll have to check into it and post back if I find anything useful.

There are a few good spoofs of the "I'm A Mac" commercials on You Tube. My favorite is the one where Mac and PC both make fun of Linux Guy:)

I really hope T-Mobile isn't chosen...I had them for a year and a half and what horrible customer service. Not to mention that their coverage in Palm Springs, CA is horrible. Apple should go with Verizon, I did go with AT&T myself, but Verizon is rated highest of all the carriers for customer satisfaction and coverage.

Just having beat Portal 2 on my 11" MBA with a 1.6ghz core 2 duo and the 320m, playing it on max settings, native resolution at ~40fps was GREAT.

This isn't possible on the Intel graphics, it'd tip just below smoothly playable at these settings. The CPU is barely a bottleneck, seriously. What other 11" device can run a modern game maxed out?! Thank god for the Source engine, and for Apple's 320M+C2D choice.

    M11x ;) Still love my R2.

Air is better in many other ways though.

I agree with others. This is page 1 content for sure.

This supports my theory that all this Google - Apple hate is manufactured to throw off the authorities who were starting to investigate their close ties last year. They both need each other.

This right here has hit the nail on the head.

So, it's most likely they are going do these things.

    1. One device that will work on both VZ and AT&T network
    2. 32GB and 64G storage.
    3. 1080P recording with 8 megapixel camera
    4. A5 chip
    5. Maybe higher ram or maybe not.
    6. Throw in something new... like better gyroscope or something to just make iPhone 4 outdated, but nothing major.

This is BS. It's not good enough, apple.

That's awesome! I can't even talk my husband into waiting for me until 3:30.

Yeah my parents kick ass, I think I will pass on returning them (still in the 40 year return policy.) My dad is there cause he is buying one, but my mom really doesn't want to be there...I am just trying to finish up some work at the house before heading out there...will take my dads ipad1 w/iphone 4 tethering to do some work while there....cannot wait to get my chick-fil-a for lunch.

I use Macs and PCs (running XP and NT) on a regular basis. Hardware recognition ("Plug and Play") is definitely better on the Mac. However, agree almost 100% with you that Windows XP has gotten much better in recognizing hardware. Through continued industry standardization, Windows is bound to get better with recognizing hardware.

From that picture I can correctly diagnosis that Larry Ellison would probably be a jerk
Not as big of a jerk as Jobs... not even close.
