None of these guys have been deported, fired, stoned or died. They are alive, well, working and proud to have been there to show up when needed.
We are legal immigrants. Even if you are illegal, you shouldnt be afraid to speak up. If legal hi-skills educated immigrants shy away from exercising constitutional rights of speaking up, then what can we say?

Hi,
I signed an agreement with my employer who is holding my H1 visa. Agreement is saying I should not work for same client for 1 year. While I am on project, client is offering me pertinent job. My employer is saying I should not accept the employment offer from client. If I ignore my employer and accepts the offer from my client, I am going to be in trouble?

We got "Approval Notice Sent" emails 6 days back. I received my EAD 3 days back but haven't received my wife's yet.
Has anyone filed for Replacement EAD? Do we need to wait 30 days from the date we received the approval email? How long does it take usually to receive a Replacement card?
Please share your experiences.

"Card production ordered" is the first status that you will see and then it will change to "Approval notice sent". Tentatively, Your card will be postmarked with the date when your status changed to "Approval notice sent" and it takes upto 4 calendar days to receive the card through mail. Usually, approval notice goes to attorney on file for 765, if you have filed G28 otherwise you will receive it. Call USCIS and find out whether the card is ordered then ask for follow-up actions and decide whether to file for replacement card. There is no separate form for replacement cards - you will still be using same 765 form; I guess, same processing time applies - you may expedite by taking infopass after receiving the receipt notice for your replacement card by providing the letter from the employer. Hope this helps.

He can use AP to renter. USCIS would not have approved to give EAD if USCIS determined he was out of status in the first place.

Is copy of approved I140 required for filing ?
Will just having a receipt notice of I140 do? My 140 is approved but I don't have the approval only the copy of the receipt notice.
I understand that attorney is the best to answer this question, but still thought of posting to get an idea to see if it is possible to file 485 without copy of approved I140.

Why even this discussion. there are many who no longer work for the sponsor even before getting the GC. What do you think happens if they find out? have you heard of anybody whose GC was affected?

W"oaaa thats a col idea man -- the UI is a bit hard to use - especially for clients with no design app experience-- maybe u need to lead people thru the coices-- eg first choose a page layout, pick one of these.. now ...... something like that ..
but wow nice little app, a lot of work I am sure, Looking forward to seeing the finished product. ( its very processor hungry? - hard to use sometimes because of this)

Thanks for the review. I did create a small flash movie to use as instructions on how to use it. I would have added it to my upload but it ended up to large to do so. The processor problem is easily over come by taking out the color component and just do a 10 color selector but it will limit the selectivity of it all.

If one is applying I 140 and I 485 concurrently, will EAD come after I 140 gets approved or EAD will come irrespective of I 140 is approved or not?

No worries I also e-filed on july 02dn 2008. received paper receipts on july 11th 2008.
after waiting for almost a month or more finally received my FP appointment schedule on august 08th 2008 and on the same day received CRIS e-mail for RFE. FP notification was sent by MSC (National benefits Centre).
I guess their is some miscommunication between MSC and NSC...looks like the adjudicators started processsing the apps, but couldnt find the finger prints in their system.
Once I receive the RFE in hand i would know what information USCIS is requesting and from which service centre issued RFE.
I went for e-file just to make sure that USCIS doesnt loose the forms in their huge backlog of applications, but apparently Paper file ead renewals are working much faster than e-filed EAD. Its USCIS everything is possible in their processing logic.
Bottomline guys go for Paper based EAD renewals rather than this crap e-file, where the application are routed to different Service centres and nobody knows whats going on with their applications for months.

Currently there is no way to pay this USD 100 from US. You have to arrange a contact, your relative etc, ask them to go to designated HDFC banks in India, pay the fees. Get the bar code # on the HDFC receipt over phone, and using that start filling an online application.
Remember, you NEED the ORIGINAL receipt to attend the visa interview. So, get it by Regd. Post or let your contact keep it in a safe place, you collect that when you meet him in India.

Our system is so screwed up that we did not know how many cases we had pending. We did not communicate with DOL and DOS properly; so we ended up causing the July Visa Bulletin fiasco, which actually screws up your case even more if you were not one of the lucky applicants to have actually obtained your GC. But your increased fees for EAD & AP renewals have afforded us new janitors, so we will try to keep your files dust free.
