Remember that Steve had that brush with a "rare form" of pancreatic cancer 2 years ago. The 5 year survival rate for the more common form of pancreatic cancer is less than 5%. :(

After reading through this thread I went ahead and ordered 8GB of ram, upgrading from 4GB. I'm hoping it helps my load times in Starcraft II.

I don't know what the griping is about. I use Outlook heavily for calendar and email via exchange. Works flawlessly for me, and is far more lightweight and user friendly than friggin Entourage. Forget that junk.
Apple need to raise the iOS bar and get tasks on the phone to catch up with exchange. Hurry up guys.

August 17, 2006 Cupertino, CA: In a surprise press release late this afternoon Apple Computer announced it's purchase of Lions Gate Films. Without delay, former President Steven Beeks was removed from his position placed in shackles, stripped to his boxer shorts and displayed prominently of the official "Apple Ridicule Platform" located conveniently in the parking lot at 1 Infinite Loop. Steve Jobs was unavailable for comment, but was seen laughing, choking down a small bowl of low calorie pescaterian chowder.

"iSteve"? Ugh. Anyway, don't worry, they will preserve his head in a jar (http://findicons.com/pack/1227/futurama_vol_5_heads_in_jars), Futurama-style.
Only Steve's head won't be in a jar like those depicted by your link...
Rather, his head will be in a big glass cube! :D

Little update.
JoyRide is quite fun. Menu system is rubbish though. But the game itself works surprisingly well. There's a lot of leniency built into it to accommodate the motion controls. Graphics are clean, shatp and colourful. The ovefly leniency controls prevents it being a frustration festival. But like I say menu system is pants.
Kinnect Sports is fun and frantic. Enjoy the bowling - it's certainly as fun as Wii Bowling so I can see it being a party game winner. Table tennis is awesome too.
What I like about most Kinnect games so far is Avatar support. It is long overdue since Microsoft introduced them.
Of all the Kinect games the biggest criticism is with the menu system. Only Dance Central has got it spot on - intuitive & responsive.

I'm actually a bit interested in this. Mind posting a link? My brother's been wanting something like this, and I think I might get this for his birthday over a shuffle because he likes having a screen.

geekbench score for the 2.3 dual core is 2082
geekbench score for the 2.5 quad is 3304
and you can get a quad , but you need to make one thing absolute sure , that it does not come with the delphi pumps , apple did change the supplier basically right at the end before discontinuing the G5 , the later ones are i think from panasonic , but that needs confirmation and those are much more reliable , still did not help them ,despite apple still sold quiet a few to its victims aeh customers who believed apple a couple month earlier, as apple told everybody how superior the G5 is and then going intel

... I also hope they include built in anti-virus and anti-spyware. I know there isn't much of either for the Mac but it would be great for marketing and the day when something bad does appear.
Actually, I think the fact that they don't even have a need for those things yet is much more of a selling point than if they were built in. The selling point is that OS X is secure right out of the box with the built in firewall and what not.

Whatever you guys say... I've had mine since January 2006 and not had a single problem.
They've already gone through some hardware revisions, no reason to assume they are as faulty as people love to suggest... especially considering there are more people with launch units that have never had problems then people that have.
It's smart to get some sort of warranty (or buy from a place with a good return policy) for any electronics purchase, and if you do... then if you happen to have a problem you should just be able to exchange locally anyway. Just be smart about your purchase, keep your receipts, and you have no reason to worry.
Re: HDMI - You might get a little bit better picture/color fidelity, although chances are good you won't really notice.
I agree that you should always get a warranty, but what if you're switching out your console like 3-4 times like people some people have? It becomes a hassle, and a waste of time.

Personally, I haven't heard much about system failures beyond the launch systems. It's unlikely more of launch systems failed then didn't. I have a launch system myself, and the majority of 360 owners have not had problems.
There have been quite a few red ring of death posts and articles around the net even within the last few months. The problems are still there.
Me. :(
Bought my system Nov06...manufacture date of May06.
Died 3 weeks ago, sent for repairs, got it back in 6 days. :o
I hope it doesn't crap out again before the warranty's up otherwise I'm going to be very very pissed off. :p :D

+1 from me - for liquid metal!
i love that mock-up
ah well maybe 2011; with usb3 and an extra TB port!
OLED 3D touch screen would be nice too
Nice mockup but this wouldn't have a DVD drive or a backlit keyboard. Also, I do not like the color and the screen is glossy. Gawd!!! :)

How do you find it on the App Store?
It's called "iDesktop VR". But it is NOT the version shown here. It's a version that is based on the accelerometer only. There is no head tracking involved, so the effect can't exactly be compared. But it gives you the idea.

Yes... The "Newton" will rise again damit!
If Apple were to release a new Newton I would buy in a second, the Newton was fanastic even though it was made a little before it's time.
I wouldn't be surprised if we seen a Newton-ish thing from Apple in the next few months.
